Lakewood, N.J.- Georgian Court University senior Ben Vergara (Toms River, N.J.) has been selected to the Capital One Academic All-District Men's Soccer Team, sponsored by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). 

Vergara, a Business Administration major with a 3.56 GPA, will now automatically be added to the Academic All-America ballot.

Ben became the first male student-athlete in the history of Georgian Court University athletics soon after the University announced its plan to go fully co-educational in the spring 2012. Vergara a 2013 representative on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Fall All-Academic Team, collected eight goals and 17 total points in 15 games with the Lions this season. His 12 career goals and 26 points ranks him second on the program's career list.

Voting for the national ballot commences on Tuesday, November 4.
