An update from the Turners at MFM Haiti

Good morning MFM Family,

November 1-3, for years all over Haiti, has been a time dedicated to Satan. Here in Saut d' Eau the streets were full of Satanic worship. If you have never seen it, you can't begin to imagine how bad it was.

But today, thanks to Jesus Christ, there is not one rah-rah (voodoo worship parade). You cannot hear the sound of one voodoo drum. Instead you hear the sound of victory, in Creole, "Victwa!"

Out in front leading the march are mighty men of God: The pastors of MFM. Thirty eight of them get a little pay each month and there are about that many more coming along that have not received pay.

Next, behind the pastors, comes the Durango. The chauffeur is "Big Boss" John Baptiste. The man in charge is Pastor Wilson. Also, inside the vehicle, are Mitane and Eric Avril. They both have microphones and are broadcasting through a 5000 watt inverter. They couldprobably stand still in one spot and the entire city could hear them. They are claiming the victory over voodoo, Catholism, and other false cults that were once kings in the Saut d' Eau area. As large groups gather along the streets to hear them, they are telling everyone that they too, can have this victory.

Behind the Durango comes the Missionary Society. There are about 30 people in this group. These are mostly older women, rooted and grounded in sound doctrine.

Then behind the Missionary Society come the young people. They are singing at the top of their voices. Between verses, they are shouting "Hallelujah" and "Praise the Lord!" They are full of Holy Ghost boldness and are witnessing to the many young sinners along the street telling them that they are missing it.

This expedition will probably take about 3-4 hours. As a test run, last weekend we had a smaller march and saw 3 wonderful conversions. Plus, we had a large increase in attendance in the Sunday morning service with another conversion there. This campaign will go through Sunday.

Then Monday morning the youth and chaperones will load up in different trucks. They will be taking food for a picnic lunch and they will be heading up to Peligue. This is the location of one of Haiti's power plants. All along the way, they will be singing at the top of their voices. They will pass through different towns and villages and the people there will hear them and come out to see what is going on. And our young preachers will be exhorting red hot for 10-15 minutes at each stop. Sometimes there are as many as three of them. Each one will be facing a different group of people.

This trip is a mixture of education and working for Jesus. They will get to walk across the big dam and also wade out into the lake. Then an official will explain how they are generating electricity. On different trips in the past, small groups at a time have been taken down inside the dam and they were able to see the big generators and turbos.

We have found that education and Christianity mix perfectly. But Christianity and worldliness will not mix at all. In fact, they are enemies to one another.  Please pray for these young people. They are doing their best to walk in the footsteps of the great missionary the late Rev. Lee Carroll.

And he did his best to walk in the footsteps of Jesus.
