Hillary Rodham Clinton is set to make history this week as the first woman presidential nominee of a major political party, a milestone all but unthinkable a generation ago. Though she wasn’t an early women’s rights activist, Clinton was fortunate to come of age just as the modern feminist movement was beginning to expand opportunities for women in the workplace—and in politics.
