Disneyland is not the happiest place on Earth for Billy Corgan.

The Smashing Pumpkins frontman was photographed grimacing while riding the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad roller coaster at Disneyland last week. A photo of Corgan clutching the ride’s bar went viral on social media, and Esquire named the picture its photo of the week.

Corgan, 48, is currently on tour with Marilyn Manson. They are scheduled to perform at Northerly Island on Aug. 7.

In a January interview with Loudwire, Corgan compared listening to music as a songwriter instead of as a fan to going to Disneyland.

“It’s a little bit like going to Disneyland and looking at all of the rides from the perspective of the construction as opposed to joy,” Corgan said. “I don’t know. It’s hard for me to listen to songs clearly anymore. I feel like that ship has sailed a long time ago. In many ways I don’t listen to popular music like I used to. I mostly just listen to classical music.”
