~~I am reviewing Snowed In by Carrie Fancett Pagels
Snowed In takes place in December 1945 in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Elsie Clark works at the local hospital and has a second job at the Northwoods Restaurant. She has three younger sisters: Ruby, Jean and Nelly. She has faced heartbreak and grief in her young life but holds fast to her faith. I like the way Elsie overcomes those challenges and prays for a bright future with her boyfriend, Henry Williams. Henry has had tragedies in his life as well, but his heart is full of God's love and peace. I like the way he jumps in and helps Elsie and her sisters when an unexpected problem comes up. I really like Henry's grandmother, Grandma Danner—who sounds like a loving grandmother, and his Uncle Fred. I always like a cabin in the woods, especially at Christmas time. I can picture the cabin back along the woods, curling smoke from the chimney and the hush of snow falling, creating a breathtaking beautiful display. A perfect setting to be snowed in a snug cabin in the woods with your loved ones.

~I received a copy of these books from one of the authors....this is my honest review~

Carrie Pagels That review just brought tears to my eyes, Tina! I loved writing this story, inspired by my real life parents, aunts, great-grandmother and great-uncle! I was SO blessed that Guidepost Books bought the story and put it into print! The cabin is at Tahquamenon Logging Museum in Newberry, Michigan. Thanks, Tina!
