The PDA - Defending your reputation
Dear <<First Name>>,

Would you like to be a PDA student rep for your University?

The profession of pharmacy needs leaders; the future leaders of the profession are today’s undergraduates.

Too many people view management as leadership. It's not! Leadership comes from influence, and influence can come from anyone at any level and in any role. Being open and authentic, helping to lift others up and working toward a common mission builds influence. True leadership comes when those around you are influenced by your actions in a positive way.

The qualities of leadership are acquired through exposure to and learning from a number of different life experiences. If you are interested in developing your leadership style, and you agree with the PDA mission then we can help you achieve this through this role.

Being a student representative for the Pharmacists’ Defence Association in your school of pharmacy is an excellent opportunity to develop your skill set and knowledge in the following areas:
  • People leadership
  • Professionalism
  • Organizing and managing projects
  • Pharmacy Law
  • Employment Law
  • Union representation

This role suits students looking to develop their leadership skills, build effective organisational skills and become strong communicators. They are expected to raise awareness of professional issues and conduct within their school of pharmacy, and to act as a mediator for contact between the PDA and academic staff. The experience gained through the PDA will stand you in good stead for your future career within the pharmacy profession.
