Chuch Norris will be delivering the 2016 McLane Lecture at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on April 20, a UMHB Spokesman announced Tuesday.

The lecture will be held in the arena of the Frank and Sue Mayborn Campus Center. The event will be open to the public and no tickets are necessary for the event. Seating will be first-come first served.

The university said in a statement the McLane Lecture brings recognized speakers to the university every year to share their experiences, insights about leadership, government, and business. The lecture is offered through the generosity of Temple residents Elizabeth and Drayton McLane Jr.

Norris is the founder of KickStart Kids, a martial arts program for at-risk middle and high school students that emphasizes the importance of strong moral character. Norris has also worked as a columnist for WorldNetDaily and Creators Syndicate. His writings reflect his Christian values and his continuing advocacy for physical fitness, according to the release sent by UMHB.
