First Hawaii High School and Public Hawaii School to compete and win!
The MCLC at Henry J. Kaiser High School sent a team to New York City to compete in the All American High School Film Festival Film Invitational. The Complete F.I. Experience provided student filmmakers the opportunity to become a true independent film crew. Over the course of the 10-week pre-production period participating teams were responsible for every aspect of creating a short narrative film: ideation, script writing, location scouting, casting, shoot schedules and more. This preparation was designed to put teams in the best possible position to successfully shoot and edit their film in New York City over the course of 3 days.
Securing permits to film in Central Park, Grand Central Terminal, Grand Central NY Public Library, and Bryant Park, allowed the students to film in iconic locations and work with a professional actor and actress in New York City.
