The streets of Helsinki and other municipalities across Finland were filled by demonstrators in support of the UN Climate Change Conference that begins in Paris, France on Monday.
Helsinki demonstrators marched to the city's Senate Square and formed a heart-shaped ring on the steps of Helsinki Cathedral. A photo taken of the group in heart-shaped formation will be sent to the climate change meeting in Paris, according to organisers.
Around the world, the marches were arranged by different environmental and citizens organisations to increase pressure on policymakers to make decisions about reducing the damage of climate change.
The international marches were organised in about 2,500 cities and towns around the globe.
Demonstrations in Finland were also arranged in Tampere, Jyväskylä, Vaasa and Mariehamn in Åland.
