Schwarzenegger-themed movie films in Birmingham

movie about the brothers who discovered bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger filmed a scene in downtown Birmingham on Monday.

Birmingham Police blocked off the 2100 block of First Avenue North in the morning and filming continue into the afternoon, said Jay Clyce, a Hoover mortgage loan officer who plays a banker in the movie and was in period costume for filming along with many other cast members on Monday morning.

The block was filled with 1950s-era antique cars for the filming of a period scene.

"Bigger" is based on the life story of brothers Joe and Ben Weider, who overcame poverty and anti-Semitism to champion the sport of bodybuilding.

, recently seen in Richard Linklater's'80s-era college comedy "Everybody Wants Some!!" and in MTV's "Teen Wolf," will play Joe Weider, who is credited with discovering Schwarzenegger and founding the International Federation of Bodybuilding.

Australian bodybuilder and 2015 Mr. Universe winner Calum von Moger, who is often called "Schwarzenegger 2.0," will play Schwarzenegger in the movie, according to the Internet Movie Database.
