Serious assault, Garbutt (Townsville)

A 22-year-old woman has been charged after an alleged incident in Peel Street, Garbutt last night.

Around 7.45pm police responded to reports of an altercation where a 22-year-old woman had allegedly bitten a 26-year-old woman.

The 26-year-old was transported to the Townsville Hospital where she received medical treatment for injuries to her upper arm and a severed left ear.

A 22-year-old Garbutt woman was arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm. She is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court later this morning.
