WilCo deputies searching for man who exposed himself to woman on trail

Williamson County Sheriff's Office deputies are looking for a man they say exposed himself to a woman on a trail Wednesday evening.

It happened at Williamson County Regional Park around 6:45 p.m.

Sheriff Robert Chody said a woman was walking her dog on the trail when she noticed a man standing in the middle of the path. He was wearing blue jeans and walked into the wooded area.

"She just kept walking and about 30 seconds later he jumps back out of the wooded area and this is where the pants were at his ankles and where he was touching himself," Chody said.

The woman ran back to her car and called 911, but deputies couldn't find him.

Chody's biggest concern is not knowing what his motive was.

"You never know with the intention of these people are. These kinds of incedents tend to escalate in my opinion from what I've seen," Chody said.

Just one day after the incident, the word has already spread to frequent visitors of the park.

"It's bad because people exercise to de-stress, to get away from all of this and then something like this happens and it's just a reason why they may not then work out," said Bill Schroeder.

Schroeder has been running at Williamson County Regional Park since the late 1990s and said it's become a popular spot for youth sports and running clubs.

"A lot of soccer, a lot of kids. That's the other thing that's kind of creepy about this is there's a lot of kids here and you've got cross country teams out running these trails," Schroeder said.

There's only been one reported sighting of this man, but it's enough to cause concern for Schroeder who will now be paying close attention to his surroundings.

"Where I was running I didn't see anyone out of the ordinary but I definitely thought about it while I was running hey just be on the lookout," Schroeder said.

The suspect is described as a heavy set white man in his late 20s or 30s. He was last seen wearing a black hat, black shirt and blue jeans.
