Guest Lecture on Meta-Heuristics

Department of Management Studies, NIT Trichy organised a guest-lecture on ‘Decision Analysis for Managers’. The esteemed guest lecturer, Dr. K. Ganesh, is a Senior Knowledge Expert & Global Lead in Supply Chain Management Centre of Competence at McKinsey & Company and an alumnus of NIT Trichy. Mr. Ganesh explained the complexities of handling and analyzing data of a big firm, enlightened the BOSA Decision Analysis and later explained the importance of heuristic and meta heuristic models for solving such problems. In continuation with these, some of the Search Techniques were elaborated upon, including the illustration of Genetic Algorithm, concluding how important these techniques have become to run a company's decision making process.
