Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash which occurred on the Gateway Motorway last night.
Initial information suggests a 24-year-old man collided with the rear of a truck approximately 500 metres north of the Old Cleveland Road exit.
The 24-year-old man and sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police investigations are continuing and officers are encouraging any witnesses to the incident to contact Crime Stoppers or Policelink on 131 444.
