Live StatsSTOCKTON, Calif. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros men's golf team closes out their fall season at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational when they tee it up at on Thursday at Stockton Golf and Country Club.
The tournament will be a 54-hole event and will feature 18-holes per day. The Stockton Golf and Country Club plays 6,516 yards and is a par 71.
The CompetitionAlong with UTRGV and the University of Pacific, other schools competing include: BYU, CSU Bakersfield, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge, Denver, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Long Beach State, Nevada, Sacramento State, Temple, UC Irvine, UC Riverside and Utah Valley.
Last Time OutThe Vaqueros competed at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, host by New Mexico State, where they finished in 12
th place with a three-round score of 896.
They used rounds of 303, 297 and 296 to finish ahead of Western New Mexico and Incarnate Word.
Individually, the Vaqueros did not post any score higher than 78 with
Andres Gonzalez leading the way with a three-round score of 222 (73,75,74) as he finished tied for 29th.
Pedro Lamadrid finished right behind his teammate with a three-round score of 223 (76,72,75) tied for 36th.
Ricky Solis finished tied for 50
th after posting a three-round score of 226 (78,75,73) while
Nicolas Platret finished tied for 54
th with a three-round score of 227 (77,76,74).
Peter Fox rounded out the team with a three-round score of 228 (77,75,76) to finish tied for 59
th.
Last Year at the Visit Stockton Pacific InvitationalThe Vaqueros did not compete in the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational last year.
Washington State won the team title after posting a three-round score of 11-under par 841.
Santa Clara's Shieh won the individual title after shooting an eight-under 205.
