Drink Of The Future Debuts At Pop Art Gala
Jim-Gerale is the featured soda of the Albany Center Galleries Gala
When you have a Pop Art Gala, you need Pop Art, and that's Jim-Gerale. We'll be there dispensing samples, and the bartending staff at the Albany Renaissance Hotel will make cocktails featuring it.
Carmen's donated a short case– 12 bottles– to the silent auction, with the Pop Art label shown above (Carmen calls this the "over my dead body" label)
Why Drink of the Future? It's got half the calories (or less) than regular ginger ale, is sweetened with fruit juice, and has twice the flavor. Soon everyone will be drinking it!
On tap at Carmen's, available in bottles soon. We'll keep you posted.

Flan— A Cuban Classic!
—Old Favorite Returns
Flan: Coconut creamy egg custard rocks 'em!
Slow Jim Fizz: Jim-Gerale cocktail made with hard cider– a South Troy specialty
Huevos Tostadas: Crispy fried tortilla, with chorizo or veggie hash and home fries, then over-easy eggs, manchego cheese, and ranchero sauce, drizzled with lime crema. Served with cucumber pico.
Sopa de Gallina: Chicken soup, Spanish style. Which turns out to be much like American style, except it has an awful lot of chicken in it. Helps with the flavor, you see.
Grilled Cheese Sandwich: Made with sharp cheddar, plus grilled onions and tomato. Perfect with the Sopa!

Chip Not Far From the Block
Barrett Jr. Amazes With Grasp of Trivia
Michael Barrett Jr., son of Hudson Mohawk Industrial Gateway director Michael Sr (shown above), wowed a packed house at the Park Pub as we watched him sweep his first episode of Jeopardy on Nov. 5.
In his second show, he got a slow start and was not able to catch up. Tough luck, Mike, but a great showing overall!

Taylor School Fundraiser
Trivia Friday at Carmen's
Love Trivia and/or Cuban food? Trivia night at Carmen's, This Friday, November 20 at 7pm, $35. We'll be serving Cubano or Veggie Sandwiches, with a gluten free option as well.
Call Carmen's (518-326-2064), or the Taylor School at (518) 274-4994 for reservations—ask for Mariann Haggerty.
Here's a dessert, a fruit platter, Carmen made as part of lunch for the Taylor School students. A mandala of healthy eating, quartered by rows of split mini-muffins. Not like the school I went to....not like it at all!
