Looking back to a beautiful late summer September day last year & I had the privilege of covering the days celebrations of Sandra & Fred’s Worton Hall Wedding in Oxfordshire. What a vibrant & happy day it was!
I met up with Sandra, bridesmaids & make-up artists at the lovely Honeysuckle Cottage for their morning preparations. Sandra & Fred had crafted their own personalised theme & decorations for the day for the ceremony & wedding breakfast and these were busily being arranged by an army of family & friends during the morning. Everything is on-site as Worton Hall, the boys were preparing themselves just across the courtyard from the girls in the listed Old Rectory cottage. Guests started to arrive and mingle before being seated in the grounds of the Old Rectory. The ceremony was held in the Pagoda in the lovely gardens and the following drinks reception was set up in the adjoining field. So much space for the wedding guests to enjoy and get the football out! I took Sandra & Fred for a short walk around Worton Hall, with great countryside views before gathering everyone again outside the Old Rectory for the large group shot. It is only a short walk across to the main Worton Hall Barn, a huge space which is a restored former grain barn. Amazing food, drinks flowing, laughter & speeches followed and of course the irresistible balloons being burst in the children’s play areas.
It was a lovely end to a beautiful day with a cracking sunset just before I departed…
