Deadpool may not be the most kid-friendly comic book character, but he helped make a young boy’s wish come true.
Ryan Reynolds, who is shooting Fox’s big screen adaptation of the Marvel Comics character in Vancouver, posted photos to his Instagram account Friday showing him welcoming young Tony Acevedo to the set. Tony is a huge Deadpool fan who asked to meet the character as part of his Make-A-Wish Foundation wish.
“Tony Acevedo asked Make A Wish [sic] Foundation if he could meet Deadpool,” Reynolds wrote on Instagram. “I wasn’t expecting him to sneak the mask, put on the gloves, smile … and then beat Deadpool about the face, arms and jugular with blazing speed. Tony’s next fight is with Hodgkin’s Disease. Hodgkin’s Disease best be wearing its brown pants. Huge thanks to @makeawishamerica.”

Tony told his volunteers he had a few reasons for wanting to meet Deadpool.
“Deadpool never dies and everything he touches has magical powers,” Tony told the Make-a-Wish volunteers, according to a rep for the organization.
Reynolds has posted plenty of teases about the film on social media, but this one definitely tops the heartwarming category.
Deadpool will be released Feb. 2016.
