Hosting East New York B. Good ProductionsCinema Series with Jackie.

FREE Outdoor Screening on Saturday, 7.5.14 at Pitkin & Berriman @ 8pm

"You're a black girl from East New York at Penn...needles ain't got sh*t on you." -- Ronnie

If you haven't yet seen Jackie., the above line is from a critical scene between her and her birth-mother and this weekend you'll have a chance to see it all go down on the big screen once more.  In addition to bringing Jackie back to the East (my hometown), we'll also be just blocks from where I taught middle school Social Studies and are opening up for...The Wiz!!!

Since the characters in Jackie's musical feature script "D-Day" are inspired by the beloved traits of our Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion as well as my old students, I am so grateful for this opportunity to host the [Re]Envision Cinema Series kickoff and share more about "D-Day" for our fundraising push.  Event details are in the flyer below.

ARTs East New York, a non-profit committed to presenting and promoting multicultural arts to address socioeconomic issues that hinder community growth, has been doing amazing work in the neighborhood.  Special thanks to the staff for organizing and cultivating arts in the East.  It's always good to be home...I hope to see you there.  Have a wonderful holiday!
