ELMHURST, Ill. - With the 10th annual Summit League Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) meetings having concluded on Sunday (July 27), check out this quick Q&A with IUPUI's two attendees,
Miguel Lozano and
Julie Riggins.
This year's Summit League SAAC representatives were made up of 18 student-athletes from nine different sports – five volleyball players, four cross country/track and field athletes, three swimming and diving athletes and one athlete from men's soccer, men's basketball, women's basketball, golf, tennis and baseball. The group consisted of eight seniors, eight juniors, one sophomore and one former student-athlete.Miguel LozanoJr. | Men's Cross Country/Track and Field | Mishawaka, Ind.

Favorite summer vacation spot: My favorite summer vacation spot is Eminence, Mo., where I have had the opportunity to attend church camp each summer.
Currently on your music play list: My current music play list includes songs from various genres such as Christian, country, rock, and classical rock.
Funniest memory from youth sports: One of the funniest memories I have from youth sports was probably considered an embarrassing moment, but when I was playing basketball and going for a loose ball, I grabbed a girls shorts instead of the ball, and it was obvious to the crowd that her pants came down a little bit and I got a technical for it.
Remembering your first college competition: I don't remember a lot about my first college competition besides being extremely nervous before the gun went off.
The sport you would be playing, if you weren't playing your current sport: If I wasn't currently running, I would probably be playing basketball because I played it from 1st grade all the way through my senior year and really enjoyed it.
Favorite athlete growing up: My favorite athlete growing up was probably Peyton Manning because he is not only an outstanding athlete, but also a kind and generous person.
Favorite professional sports team: My favorite professional sports team is probably the Indianapolis Colts, and now the Denver Broncos as well.
Three things in life you couldn't live without: This is a tough question! There are a lot of people that I could not live without, but three things that I would not enjoy living without would be:
My Bible because it is what I strive to live by. My toothbrush because I cannot stand having dirty teeth. Food because as they say, "you gotta eat to live" and many times I eat way more than I really need to, but I guess that is just one of the many benefits of being an athlete.
Three people in history you would want to join you at a four-person table: Another tough question because there are so many people in history that I would love to have the opportunity to meet, but if I had to pick only three to join me at a four-person table they would be:
Jesus, Ronald Reagan, Martha Washington
Favorite television show: My favorite television show is Cupcake Wars.
Best advice you've ever received: Although I have received a lot of great advice, one of the most memorable things that I have heard is from my mom telling me, "you are too blessed to be stressed." It really is true, and when you try to take a mental step back out of situations and consider all of the blessings you have, it really helps put your trials and problems in the right perspective.
