Box Score Lafayette Hill, Pa. - (10/25/2014) – After honoring 11 players on Senior Day, the Chestnut Hill College women's team thrilled the home crowd with its highest output of the season this afternoon. Seniors Victoria Fioretti (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J.), Leanna Ashcom (Philadelphia, Pa.), and Kelly McKenna (Dover, Del.) all found the back of the net and defender Melissa Marotta (Forked River, N.J.) earned her first career point with an assist in the Griffins 7-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) triumph over visiting Bloomfield College. Junior midfielder Victoria Fedora (East McKeesport, Pa.) turned in her best game as a Griffin with two goals and an assist.

With 10 seniors starting, including injured forward Alexis LeDonne (Williamstown, N.J.), Chestnut Hill College (3-12, 3-8) got a quick jump on short-handed Bloomfield College (1-15, 1-10), which dressed only 10 players and lost another to injury in the first half. Fioretti beat a Bears defender and sent an angled chip over the keeper for her second goal of the season just 4:08 into the contest, 1-0.

The advantage stayed at one for the next 18 minutes until the Griffins put the game away with a first-half barrage. Marotta logged her first point at 22:53, springing junior midfielder Danielle Spinuzza (Williamstown, N.J.) for a breakaway goal, 2-0, with a long pass down the sideline.

Next came four goals in a span of 8:56, with junior midfielder Victoria Fedora (East McKeesport, Pa.) having a foot in three of them. First, Fedora broke free on a breakaway and left off a touch pass for an easy finish by Ashcom, who netted her second goal of the season, 3-0 (30:30). Fedora then converted on a breakaway opportunity of her own, 4-0 (35:09), and scored again just over three minutes later (38:24) when she settled a corner kick by junior midfielder Courtney Weidner (Philadelphia, Pa.) and chipped Bloomfield College's sophomore goalkeeper Diana Vincentini (Lacey Township, N.J.) with a shot to the left corner of the goal, 5-0.

Just 62 seconds after that, freshman forward Julianna Casasanto (Philadelphia, Pa.) took a pass from sophomore Alissa Battaglia (Merrick, N.Y.), dribbled around Vincentini and converted into a wide-open net for her first career goal, 6-0 (39:26).

With the teams playing 9-on-9 after intermission, the Bears got on the scoreboard early in the second half on a blast from just outside the box by senior forward Christina Vincentini (Lacey Township, N.J.), 6-1 (51:59). McKenna deposited her second career goal with just 1:13 remaining, connecting on a shot from the right corner of the box to end the scoring, 7-1, and give freshman forward Anna Abbot (Sicklerville, N.J.) her first career point.

Senior goalie Samantha Pauls (South Plainfield, N.J.) finished with six saves to pick up the win (2-9). Diana Vincentini (1-15) made 13 saves for the Bears.

Christina Vincentini was Bloomfield College's main offensive threat, recording 16 of the team's 21 shots. Sophomore Alicia Galiano (Washington Twp., N.J.) attempted four.

Chestnut Hill College outshot the visitors, 37-21, in its highest scoring output since an 8-0 win over Lincoln on October 4, 2010. Senior midfielder Katherine Williams (Pennsauken, N.J.) led the Griffin attack with eight shots, including two in a row that rattled the crossbar late in the game. Fellow senior midfielder Morgan Fell (Boyertown, Pa.) chipped in with seven shots, with McKenna and Fedora taking four apiece. Fioretti, Ashcom, Abbot, and Spinuzza each logged three.

The women's soccer team returns to Victory Field #1 for its home finale, a nonleague against East Stroudsburg University on Monday, October 27 at 4:00 p.m..
