The Phantom of the Opera animated feature is an adaptation of Gaston Leroux’s novel of the same title. It is a story of disfigured and misunderstood music genius Erik who lives in the opera basements, and his infatuation he holds for his protegee Chistine Daaé is so strong that even her heart cannot resist. Christine, the young opera singer, is torn between her mentor and the love for her childhood sweetheart Raoul.
The book had many great adaptations, from the great Andrew Lloyd Webber’s stage production to many Hollywood films. Never has there been a full feature length 2D animated film. We see this as an opportunity for fans of The Phantom of the Opera and animation to reconnect with these classic characters of Erik, Christine and Raoul, and bring them into 2016.
We have two dedicated production studios from both Melbourne and Belgrade working on this production. Team will be in full production for over 18 months, with close to 250,000 drawings.
