Our Community Reads promoted by the

This is a great opportunity for everyone in Ocean City to read the same book and have a shared dialogue. It is certain to enrich the lives of those who participate.

Main Lecture Room N110The popular TED Talks continue this Saturday with Janine Shepherd, a promising cross-country skier who was hit by a truck during a training bike ride, discussing "A broken body isn't a broken person." A powerful story about the human potential for recovery, Janine shows you are not your body, and giving up old dreams can allow new ones to soar.
TED stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design, and the TED talks feature experts in a variety of fields who present unique ways of looking at their respective fields of expertise.
Everyone is welcome to attend these free sessions, and a discussion will take place after the Lecture.

Ocean City summer-long resident and science fiction author, Kieran Shea, will host an evening discussion outlining his journey on securing a multi-book deal and the pitfalls and practicalities of getting one's work published.
From finding a literary agent to developing and sticking with solid work habits, Kieran's journey has been quite the wild and unexpected ride.
Kieran will also be reading from his debut novel KOKO TAKES A HOLIDAY published this past June by Titan Books.

During this hands-on program, you'll use stencils and rubber stamps to create your own personal designs on canvas, while learning the history of these beautiful, hand-made carpets.
