BALTIMORE – The Great Danes return to Baltimore on Saturday for an America East matchup, taking on UMBC at UMBC Stadium at 3:30 p.m.

Tickets for the game are eight dollars for adults and five dollars for seniors and non-UMBC students.  Children under six are admitted free.  Tickets are available on the UMBC athletics website.

The Great Danes have received votes in each the USILA Coaches Poll and Warrior DI Media Poll.  UMBC is not ranked in either poll.

UAlbany has won its last two games, including a 17-7 home victory over Stony Brook last week, to come into this weekend at 6-5 overall and 3-0 in-conference.  With a 16-11 win over Hartford last week, UMBC will have Senior Day on Saturday standing 6-5 overall and 2-1 in the America East.

UAlbany has won the last three meetings, including a 19-10 victory in the 2013 America East title game, to pull within three in the overall series with UMBC, trailing 10-7.

This game pits UAlbany coach Scott Marr against UMBC coach Don Zimmermann, Marr's former coach at Johns Hopkins.

UAlbany boasts the top offense in Division I with 15.09 goals per game, led by Miles Thompson, who has an NCAA-best 45 goals, adding 22 assists.  Lyle Thompson leads all of DI in assists and points per game, tallying 50 assists and 23 goals for 73 points.  Each are going for records on Saturday: Miles Thompson at 241 points is just three points away from becoming the all-time leader in points in UAlbany history, while Lyle Thompson is just two assists away from tying the all-time UAlbany assists mark, standing with 129.

On the defensive end, Blaze Riorden leads DI in saves per game, sporting a 55.6% save percentage and allowing 11.28 goals per game.  Defensive captain Doug Eich has 17 ground balls and seven caused turnovers, while Cody Futia stands with 12 ground balls and nine caused turnovers.

Standing sixth in DI in goals per game, senior attackman Matt Gregoire has 33 goals and 19 ground balls for UMBC.  Sophomore middie Jack Gannon is the leading assistant with 18 assists and 17 goals, while reigning league Co-Player of the Week Pat Young has 22 goals and eight assists.

Freshman Connor Gordon is UMBC's primary goalkeeper, standing 14th in DI with a 55.1% save percentage, allowing 10.42 goals per game.  Two of his main defenders are junior LSM Seth Mackin, with 37 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers, and junior defenseman Ian Gray, also with 13 caused turnovers.
