The Center of Dance
"Sometimes you embrace a book...and sometimes a book embraces you. "Give Take Be" takes us on a warm and personal voyage of the very talented Carol Crawford Smith from being a young professional dancer with the Dance Theatre of Harlem to overcoming the unexpected fears of MS. Carol's courage and talent, her faith and beliefs carry her through. She won a home makeover and the hearts of all in this community. She no longer physically dances but her heart waltzes to a beautiful tune of always...always...always summer."
Nikki Giovanni, Poet

Perspective Gallery
The Path to Peace: Annual MLK Children and Teen Art Exhibit will be in its final 2 weeks, closing on Sunday February 28.  Come by and see the art inspired by Martin Luther King Junior's quote, "if I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way."  All art was installed on the gallery walls in a "path" illustrating how each of us doing our "small thing in a great way" adds to the "path to peace."

Hours:  Monday-Closed; Tuesday - Saturday 12 p.m. - 9 p.m.; Sunday 1 p.m.- 5 p.m.
The gallery is always free and open to the public.

Main Street Inn Gallery
Staring Feb 15
The Gallery at Main Street Inn will exhibit the works of Charlotte Chan. Charlotte Chan loves to draw and paint with ink in the Chinese style since she was a child.  She started working in watercolor while her daughter was growing up studying with area artists and Charlotte's mentor, Nadine Allen.  She often attends workshops to expand her painting knowledge and styles.  A "Big Shapes and Big Colors" workshop greatly influenced her style and increased her avid interest in the work of Georgia O'Keeffe, well known for her large flower paintings. This led her to develop her familiar large format watercolor works. Charlotte is a member of the Blacksburg Regional Art Association for many years and is currently Co-Vice President.
