Serious traffic crash, Park Avenue

Police remain at the scene of a serious traffic crash that occurred earlier this morning at Park Avenue.

Preliminary investigations indicate that around 4.20am, a truck and hatchback have collided at the intersection of Alexandra Street and Moores Creek Road, causing the truck to roll.

The driver of the truck, a 60-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to the Rockhampton Base Hospital.

The driver of the hatchback, a 36-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and was transported to the Rockhampton Base Hospital.

Moores Creek Road is closed to all traffic at Alexandra Street and is expected to remain closed for a couple of hours. Diversions via Yaamba Road and Musgrave Street are in place.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
