With the world facing a vampire apocalypse, the end is nigh — and the one man who could turn the tide is nowhere to be found.
Next year, The Baltimore saga co-created and written by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola and novelist Christopher Golden reaches its suitably horrific climax with Baltimore: The Red Kingdom, and Heat Vision is exclusively debuting the trailer for the five-issue comic book series.
“Working on Baltimore has been a gift,” Golden said in a statement from the publisher. “From the moment Mike Mignola first called to ask if I wanted to write the novel, and through forty-one issues of the comics series, I’ve felt incredibly fortunate to be able to tell this story, to build this world and these characters alongside an extraordinary group of creators.”
This final installment continues the parade of top-level collaborators on the series, as Mignola and Golden are joined by award-winning children’s book illustrator Pete Bergting, with Ben Stenbeck providing cover artwork.
As Baltimore: The Red Kingdom, the eponymous lead of the series — Lord Henry Baltimore — has disappeared, leaving the Red King unopposed in his attempt to take over the world. As the end of the story approaches, will Baltimore re-appear to save the day and finally fulfill his quest for revenge against the vampire that killed his family?
The first issue of the series will debut in comic book stores and digitally Feb. 1, 2017.
