A series of new, and possibly leaked, promotional photos from Star Wars: The Last Jedi appeared on social media on Monday. The images provide a clear look at many of the film's principal characters, including a detailed closeup still of the First Order's Supreme Leader Snoke.

A headshot of Snoke is the first of its kind, Star Wars fans only ever having glimpsed the character's shadowy, holographic visage in brief in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Now, the extent of the character's scarring and deformity is fully apparent.

The photos, which appear on the page of a Twitter account identified as Star Wars Stuff, also include images of Rey, Finn, Kylo Ren and the new red-garbed Praetorian guard. These are presumably Snoke's own elite guardsmen, who appear deliberately derived from Emperor Palpatine's own elite guard, albeit with a touch of samurai added to their armor.

Luke Skywalker is also seen, sporting a much darker version of his Jedi robes, as teased at the end of the last film. Curiously, Luke appears to be carrying a wooden walking stick in lieu of his lightsaber, although Rey and Kylo Ren's promo shots show them armed with their sabers of their own. Rey is also outfitted in Jedi-esque attire.

Debuting in theater on December 15, Star Wars: The Last Jedi is a production of Lacasfilm directed by Rian Johnson and starring Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran.
