Quick! Someone create a timeline where the universes of Glee and Frozen intersect. (Is Arendelle just outside Lima, Ohio?)
Full audio of Lea Michele singing the classic Frozen song “Let It Go” from the upcoming season of Glee has arrived, and while it’s no surprise that Rachel Berry is covering one of the biggest songs of 2014, fans of the show will quickly note that there’s something a little extra special about this cover.
How ‘American Horror Story’ Is Becoming the Next ‘Glee’
Idina Menzel, who famously sang the song in the film, plays Rachel’s mom on the show (the two memorably sang “I Dreamed a Dream” together, among other performances). It’s been noted before how similiar the voices of the two Broadway gals sound, and Michele’s cover of “Let It Go” is no exception.
While it doesn’t seem like Menzel will be making a cameo for this performance, here’s hoping she finds her way back to Glee during some point of the final season. Bonus points if she can work in some version of “The cold never bothered me anyway.”
