Dancing With the Stars: Latin Night [Recap]

Dancing With the Stars

Dancing With the Stars

On Dancing With the Stars tonight, it was Latin Night, and the celebs and their dance partners had to perform a dance to an unlearned Latin-themed song. By the end of the evening, yet another celeb was eliminated. There was a lot of terrific dancing, as usual, and a couple of dances that were not…quite so terrific, but the celebs all seemed to have fun, and they did their best.

Dancing With the Stars began with Rumer Willis and Val, who have been burning up the stage lately and getting some of the highest scores each time they have performed. Tonight, they performed an amazing Salsa to the Gloria Estefan song, Turn the Beat Around. Their dance was one of the highlights of the episode. They received scores of three 8s and one 9 from the judges, for a total of 33 out of 40 points. They were, of course, “safe” with that score from being eliminated tonight.

Next on Dancing With the Stars, actress and model Charlotte McKinney and Keo took the stage to perform a Rumba to Shakira’s hit, Empire. They did okay, but failed to impress the judges, who gave them scores of two 5s and two 6s, for a total of 22 points out of 40. That score put them in danger of being eliminated at the end of the episode.

Then, NFL football player, Michael Sam, and his dance partner, Peta Murgatroyd, danced on Dancing With the Stars. Michael and Peta performed a Salsa to Pitbull’s song, Celebrate. They did somewhat better, at least, than Charlotte and Keo, and were awarded scores of four 6s by the judges, giving them 24 points in all. That was enough for them to be “safe” at the end of the episode.

Couple number four on Dancing With the Stars tonight was actor and singer Riker Lynch and Allison Holker. Riker and Allison danced a Salsa to Daddy Yankee’s song, Limbo. They ROCKED this dance OUT, showing off some great dance moves, which earned them scores of three 9s and one 7, for a total of 34 out of 40 points, putting them in the lead for now, at least, tonight.

After their spectacular performance, the next couple to dance on Dancing With the Stars was Three’s Company star, Suzanne Somers, and her dance partner, Tony Dovolani. They performed a Salsa to Barry Manilow’s big hit, Copacabana. The judges awarded them scores of three 6s and one 7, for 25 points, enough for them to be “safe” tonight.

The sixth couple to dance tonight on Dancing With the Stars was The Bachelor star, Chris Soules, and his dance partner, Witney Carson. The dance that they chose to perform was an Argentine tango, to the David Guetta song Dangerous. They put on a pretty good performance, and the judges gave them scores of four 7s, for a total of 28 points. Chris and Witney were also declared “safe” at the conclusion of the episode.

After they danced, the seventh couple to perform on Dancing With the Stars tonight was Shark Tank panelist, Robert Herjavec, with his pro dance partner, Kym Johnson. They performed a Rumba to Ellie Goulding’s song, How Long Will I Love You? They really did a fantastic job, though the score they received was not the highest. The judges gave them three 7s and one 8, making for a total of 29 big points. They were called “safe,” and will be moving on to next week’s show.

Then, the couple who danced on Dancing With the Stars was Soul singer, Patti LaBelle, and her partner, Artem. They danced a Cha-cha-cha to a song by Santana, featuring Pitbull, called Oye 2014. They did not get very high scores, just two 5s and two 6s, giving them a score of 22 points and tying them for the lowest score of the night with Charlotte and Keo.

Couple number nine on Dancing With the Stars was actress Willow Shields and Mark Ballas. They danced a Paso doble to the song Hanuman, by Rodrigo y Gabriela and John Tempesta. They danced very well, and their dance was another highlight of the episode. The judges awarded them scores of four 8s, for a combined total of 32 points out of 40, and they were also declared “safe.”

After they danced, the tenth couple up on Dancing With the Stars was Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess. They performed an Argentine tango to the Clean Bandit song, Rather Be. They really did an awesome job, as well, and got scores from the judges of two 7s and two 8s, which made a total of 30 points. They were “safe” and will be headed on to next week’s show.

The last couple of the evening to dance on Dancing With the Stars was Nastia Liukin and her partner, Derek Hough. They performed a Samba to Fulanito’s song, Chillando Goma. Their dance was amazing, and was yet another highlight of the episode. The judges awarded them scores of two 8s and two 9s, making a score of 34 points. They were definitely “safe” with a score like that.

Who was eliminated on Dancing With the Stars? Two couples had the lowest scores of just 22 combined points, Charlotte and Keo and also Patti LaBelle and Artem. The couple that was eliminated tonight was Charlotte McKinney and Keo.
