Don’t get hooked by E-ZPass phishing scam
Malliotakis warns of emails seeking payment
There’s a new scam out there, and it could ensnare anyone who uses the E-ZPass when driving on the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and other crossings.
Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis (R-C-Bay Ridge-Staten Island) is warning E-ZPass customers of a newly-discovered email phishing scam that attempts to collect unpaid tolls.
“It is an unfortunate reality that people go to great lengths to devise plans and scam unsuspecting individuals,” Malliotakis said. “These scam artists are leaving no stone unturned and must be stopped. To all E-ZPass holders, please be careful and share this information with others who may also be affected.”
