Need to blunt the shock and heartache of merciless character kill-offs and unexpected plot twists in the wildly popular “Game of Thrones” TV series? A new range of wines has been released to soften the blow.

Created by faithful fans of the popular HBO fantasy series, The Wines of Westeros — named after the fictional continent where the drama takes place — are red and white wines linked to the show’s feuding clans.

Reds are associated with houses that are headstrong and robust, while white wines are named after the cunning, mysterious and perceptive clans, said Aussie creator Jane Burlop of ad agency Common Ventures, in an interview with trendspotting site PSFK.

Wines will be supplied by Australian winemakers.

“Whether this becomes a coveted item for the fans or a bottle that is opened with every episode, this wine is made to be drunk with friends and to help soften the blow of the shock and heartache as our favorite characters are slowly killed off,” Burlop told the blog.

The Wines of Westeros is the latest vino to be born from pop culture references.

Last year, French winemaker Grands Vins de Bordeaux launched a pair of red and white wines inspired by British period drama “Downton Abbey.”

Likewise, to coincide with the release of the silver screen Star Trek film “Star Trek Into Darkness,” California winery Viansa launched a trio of vintage bottles.

And “Fifty Shades of Grey” author E.L. James also has a line of wines called ‘You are Mine’ and ‘White Silk’ to set the mood.

The Wines of Westeros include Sauvignon Blancs, Pinot Noirs, Merlots, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignons and Shiraz wines.

The wines, which are available for pre-order at $20 AUS ($19 USD), will launch in time for the new season expected to air next year, and will ship internationally.
