Stolen vehicle and assault police charges, Woodridge

A woman from New Zealand has been charged following an incident yesterday in Woodridge.

Officers from the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) attended an address on Hague Street at around 11.30am.  It was there that they located an allegedly stolen vehicle in the car park with a woman sitting in the driver’s seat.

It will be alleged that when one officer asked the woman to turn the ignition off she reversed the vehicle with speed, almost colliding with the other officer who had to jump out of the way.

The woman continued in her attempt to exit the car park where she again allegedly drove in the direction of one of the officers.

Police apprehended her and she was later charged with one count each of unlawful operation of a motor vehicle and serious assault of a police officer.

The 25-year-old woman is scheduled to appear in the Wynnum Magistrates Court today.

Nobody was seriously injured during this incident.
