Update: Fatal traffic crash, Alexandra Hills

Police have charged a 40-year-old man with manslaughter following a fatal traffic crash at Alexandra Hills yesterday.

It will be alleged a stolen vehicle travelled through a red light and collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Finucane and Vienna roads around 1.30pm.

A 65-year-old Redland Bay woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.

It will also be alleged the vehicle failed to stop after a police vehicle activated lights and sirens on Sallows Street prior to the crash.

A 40-year-old Cleveland man has been charged with one count each of manslaughter, unlawful use of a vehicle and failing to stop for police.

He is expected to appear in the Cleveland Magistrates Court today.

Ethical Standards Command is continuing to investigate the matter on behalf of the Coroner.
