Bobby Robins has made a name for himself in the Boston Bruins’ organization with his fists.

The journeyman forward is up with the big club during training camp, and he proved Friday night that he’s always looking to set the tone by dropping the gloves. He also showed that he’s more than willing to stick up for his teammates.

Robins took exception after Washington Capitals forward Liam O’Brien crushed Bruins forward Ben Sexton. Robins immediately sought out O’Brien and dropped the gloves. O’Brien obliged, and the two went at it in a spirited bout.

Robins wasn’t the only Bruins player to get some pugilistic practice in against the Caps. Defenseman Adam McQuaid engaged in an entertaining bout with Steve Olesky, too. Robins and McQuaid are no strangers to dropping their mitts during the preseason. In fact, they’ve even squared off against each other before. The two players fought in a black-and-white scrimmage prior to the 2013 season.
