Drugs and cash seized at alleged criminal motorcycle gang meeting house

In continued enforcement action against criminal gangs, earlier today, detectives from Taskforce Maxima executed simultaneous search warrants at business premises at Carrara and Worongary on the Gold Coast.

It will be alleged at Kurilpa Street, Worongary address detectives located approximately 5 kilograms of cannabis, $35,000 in cash, drug paraphernalia and criminal gang paraphernalia associated with the Odin Warriors Criminal Motorcycle Gang.

Police will allege the potential value of the drugs located is approximately $45,000.

Police will also allege the premises is being used as a meeting and defacto clubhouse for the Odins Warriors Criminal Motor Cycle Gang.

Currently three men and a woman have been taken into custody and are assisting police with their inquiries.

One man is the owner occupier of the premises and another man was taken into custody after attempting to flee, allegedly in possession of cannabis suspected to have been purchased from the premises.

Investigations are continuing with charges expected later in the day.

Taskforce Maxima Detective Inspector Brendan Smith said gang houses are used to plan and conduct criminal activities, as well as to store illegal drugs and criminal proceeds.

“By preventing gang members from attending their gang houses, their criminal activities are disrupted.

“It removes them from the shadows and makes it harder for them to do business.

“Gang members need to understand we will target them ‘anywhere, anytime’.

“We will do everything we can to dismantle their criminal activities and keep the community safe.”
