Frankfort, Ky.—Kentucky State University football will face off with SIAC rival Central State University in the Circle City Classic on Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. at 3:00 p.m. ET.

"This is league play, and they really matter now," said head coach John L. Smith. "We'll be playing in a great atmosphere against our archrival, we'll be prepared, and we'll get it done."

The Thorobreds (0-3) have won the last two matchups against CSU in the Circle City Classic, including a thrilling fourth quarter comeback a year ago. The Marauder (0-3) have started off their 2016 campaign with losses to the University of Dayton, Clark Atlanta University, and Benedict College.

KSU has struggled offensively in the opening three games of the season but has shown the ability to pull-off big plays. In the opening game of the season senior running back Reginal Harris broke off a touchdown run of over 40 yards against Charleston Southern University and freshman quarterback Jules St. Ge hooked up with sophomore wide receiver Demetrius Anderson for a 57- yard score off a screen pass against Virginia State University.

"We are continuing to simplify our offense," said Smith. "We have something to build on but what we don't want to do is try to expand too much. Different opponents at various times will force us to grow. I think with Jules (St. Ge) coming in is a young, aggressive, and competitive athlete will give us a chance at the quarterback spot."

Defensively the Thorobreds have given the offense chances in the latter part in each of the last two contest. In those games, the defense has only allowed 184 yards of total offense and one touchdown combined.
