Assault charges, Woodridge

A man and a woman have been charged with assault following an incident at Woodridge on September 28.

A 48-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were walking along Croydon Road around 11.20am on Sunday when it will be alleged a vehicle stopped near them before a verbal altercation ensued between them and a man and a woman in the vehicle.

The man and boy drove away in their vehicle before stopping at a North Road grocery store.

The vehicle involved in the first altercation also went to North Road, where it was joined by a second vehicle. A man from the first vehicle, along with a group of men from the second vehicle then approached the 15-year-old who was standing outside the business.

At this time the 48-year-old man went outside when it will be alleged a man from the second vehicle pushed him in the chest causing him to stumble back and strike his back on a counter.

It will further be alleged the man then punched the boy in the face. Both cars then drove off.

A 24-year-old Crestmead man has been charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm whilst in company.

A 25-year-old woman has been charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm whilst in company.

Both are expected to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on October 28.

Investigations are continuing.
