COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Nov. 24, 2014) – Oklahoma Christian midfielder
Domenico DeGrazia capped an honor-filled career on Monday, as he was named to the Daktronics All-South Central Region men's soccer second-team list.
DeGrazia, a senior from Caracas, Venezuela, made the second-team list for the second time in his career, having also done so as a sophomore. This season, he finished with four goals and one assist – tying for the team lead in goals and points (9) – as the Eagles finished 4-9-1.
He scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in his final collegiate game, a 3-0 win over Texas-Permian Basin on Nov. 3. DeGrazia finished his career with 26 goals and 14 assists.
"I'm really happy for Domenico to be recognized as a part of this team," OC coach
David Scott said. "He has been a great player for us the past four years and to be recognized again in his final year is a big honor. Both on the field and in the classroom, he possesses all the qualities you want your student-athletes to have. He is a very focused and hard-working young man and deserving of this honor."
In addition to the Daktronics awards – which are voted on by the NCAA Division II region's sports information directors – DeGrazia was a two-time All-Heartland Conference second-team pick (in 2012 and 2013) and made the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's All-South Central Region second-team list in 2012. He also was an All-National Christian College Athletic Association Central Region first-team pick as a junior.
