Social media source of inspiration

Until recently, social media has held very little interest to me.

I just don’t have the capacity to entertain other people’s neurosis, what they like or dislike, unless they’re talking fashion of course.

I kid. But even in the case for fashion, I browse to find what inspires me.

I’ve realized in recent times that people post or pin things just to see how many likes they get. As for me, my Facebook account is about staying in touch with friends and family and for a few strangers to drop in to be nosey. I’ve adopted Pinterest due to my busy schedule, when I don’t have the capacity for creativity. It’s my source for crafts and catching other people’s ideas to not have to think so hard.

About three and a half years late, I’ve recently made an Instagram account and though I’m still trying to figure it out, it is my newest go to for fashion.

Why I love this account: It’s quick and easy. I’m a visual person and so Instagram works for me. It’s just a series of photos, videos and quotes people post for those of you who are more behind with the times than myself. Of course it has a likeness to Facebook and your popularity is based on how many people follow you.

What first struck my interest is when you press the search button, photos and people automatically pop up based on the people you already follow. Since I’ve already followed a few fashion people, now the fashionista suggestions come to me.

I love this and so now I’m hooked. You have the fashion it girls of the moment to the everyday Jane with the most creativity.

What I like about it the most is because this is the place I can go to be as vain as I want to be. I mean I don’t exactly post pictures of my shoes and on Facebook. But on Instagram, you’re going to see my favorite shade of lipstick and the outfit of the day.

Right now I need to find a photographer to follow me around everyday. It’s an addiction; style inspiration at your fingertips.
