The Big Bang Theory Postpones Production Amidst Contract Standoff

at .

Production on The Big Bang Theory Season 8 has been halted amidst contract discussions between the studio and all five leads.

"Due to ongoing contract negotiations, production on The Big Bang Theory - which was originally scheduled to begin [Wednesday, July 30] - has been postponed,” reads a statement from Warner Bros. TV, which produces the small screen's highest-rated sitcom.

At the moment, production has only been pushed back a day, a situation that will remain the same until new deals are reached.

Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting reportedly are hoping to increase their per-episode salary from around $300,000 to $1 million; while Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar are also seeking major raises.

In March, CBS renewed Big Bang for three more seasons (through May 2017) contingent on the cast’s contracts staying current.

Oh, Bernadette, please play my clarinet.

Raj's poem

Sheldon: I'll have a diet Coke.
Penny: Can you please order a cocktail? I need to practice mixing drinks.
Sheldon: Fine... I'll have a virgin Cuba Libre.
Penny: That's... rum and Coke without the rum.
Sheldon: Yes, and would you make it diet?
