We are happy to announce that WE ARE BACK, and this time with a gong.
After taking a year off, we have decided to hit the stage on September 8th, 2017 with a fitting new theme. We introduce to you:
The Gangrene Comedy Film Festival: Gong Show
The organizers of the Gangrene Film Festival grew up on 2 forms of entertainment: The Muppet Show, and The Gong Show. This year we plan to pay tribute to the latter, to the late great Chuck Barris and his immortalized contribution to comedy.
“The” Gong Will Be There
That’s right, after scouring the countryside; we found the actual gong used on the original early 70’s series “The Gong Show.” We have arranged to have it transported to the Kenley Amphitheater for a night of laughs and plenty of sonorous gonging.
Bring your family to enjoy the event, which will feature the Gangrene Band as Sparkling Planet, with a new set of absurd original songs. There will be a few surprises in the way of Gong Show style live acts and, of course, plenty of new comedy short films to keep you and your family rolling for the entire event.
