Rolling applications for the 4-day international conference will be accepted until May 30, 2015 and BLACK GIRLS ROCK! is offering need-based grants to accepted participants. BGL is a 4-day international leadership conference designed to fortify girls between the ages of 13-17 who come from various socioeconomic and geographical backgrounds. Applicants should exhibit strong leadership potential, a vested interest in their personal and professional development, a foundation of cultural pride, a deep determination to excel, and a will to use their brilliance to impact the world!
BLACK GIRLS LEAD isdesigned to advance young women’sleadership development, critical thinking skills, academic achievement, civic engagement, and philanthropy. Founder Beverly Bondsaid, “Since its inception BLACK GIRLS ROCK! has been committed to empowering girls to lead by giving them the tools needed to find their voice, define their truth, own their agency, and honor their calling. Each year we host a College Prep Panel including admissions counselors, financial aid advisors, and dynamic alumni from colleges and universities across the nation. During our College Prep Panel experts offer advice on financial aid, scholarships, applications requirements, etc. We've welcomed representatives from: Barnard College, Columbia University, Smith College, Howard University, Princeton University, Wesleyan University, UPENN, NYU, Dartmouth College, Simmons College, Temple University and more!
