The Marshall County Hoopfest Began Today
One of the best high school basketball tournaments in the nation tipped-off today in Western Kentucky. Some of the games will be televised on ESPNU and ESPN, including one going on right now. Others can be watched on ESPN3. Click here for a full schedule. As always, there's tons of elite talent in the tournament, but in the Class of 2016, they're all the elite recruits NOT coming to Kentucky. That doesn't mean that there aren't younger players that could be Wildcats. Here's a short list of who you should keep an eye on in the Class of 2017.- Jarred Vanderbilt, 6'8" small forward, #6 player in the nation according to 247 composite rankings. De'Aaron Fox's AAU teammate plays for Victory Prep and has a scholarship offer from the Cats.
- Trevon Duval, 6'3" point guard, the consensus #1 player in the Class of 2017.
- Billy Preston, 6'10" power forward, #7 player in the nation according to 247 composite rankings. Preston is teammates with Duval at API.
- John Petty, 6'5" small forward, #16 player according to 247 composite rankings. Petty has an offer from Coach Cal and visited for Big Blue Madness. His team takes on API Sunday at 1:30.
