The Hamlet booked themselves an away play off against Margate with a hard fought point at Tonbridge Angels.

Dulwich secured fourth place in the table, and a sixth consecutive season of improvement under the management of Gavin Rose and his team.

With Ashley Carew suspended, Kevin James came into the starting line up as the only change from the previous weekend's line up.

Dulwich opened brightly and were quickly into their stride. Frazer Shaw and Nyren Clunis combined well on the left but the chance was lost as Clunis took an extra touch when he could perhaps have shot earlier.

In the 10th minute a Dulwich short corner routine went awry and the home side broke swiftly. A low cross from the Dulwich left found Elder in front of goal but Phil Wilson spread himself to save when the home side looked sure to score.

A superb pass from Kevin James released Luke Wanadio on the Dulwich left but his cross was scrambled away from inside the six yard box before Dulwich fell behind in the 18th minute.

A crossfield pass saw Ethan Pinnock misjudge the flight and this left Marvin Williams free behind him and he controlled the ball before lifting the ball over Wilson and into the net.

However, Dulwich were behind for only 3 minutes as Jordan Hibbert sent in a great cross from the right that Harry Ottaway gleefully headed in at the far post.

Dulwich were generally in control but didn't create any clear sight of goal until the 35th minute. Harry Ottaway laying a Jordan Hibbert throw into the path of Xavier Vidal whose shot from the edge of the box was narrowly wide.

A long ball over the top found Luke Wanadio but he miscontrolled at the crucial moment and home keeper, Bishop, was able to snatch the ball in front of him.

Leading up to half time Nyren Clunis had two efforts, one of which went narrowly wide and the other being saved, before a great chance was passed up with almost the last kick of the half.

Harry Ottaway was released behind the defence and took the ball around Bishop wide to the left of the goal. With the keeper stranded he advanced before trying to place the ball between the covering defenders but Parkinson blocked his effort on the line.

Half Time 1-1

The second half was a slow burner as little of note happened in the opening quarter of an hour other than Nyren Clunis limping off to be replaced by Albert Jarrett.

Just past the hour, Matt Drage went on a surging run from inside his own half that ended with his shot being blocked on the edge of the Tonbridge penalty area. Harry Ottaway then just failed to get enough elevation as he tried to lift the ball over Bishop from an acute angle and Phil Wilson also had to scramble across goal to deal with a dangerous 67th minute cross.

Dulwich had a scare in the 71st minute as a long ball over the top freed Elder with a clear run on goal but he fired too high.

Within a minute, Dulwich were in front. Dean McDonald, who had only been on the pitch a matter of moments, found Xavier Vidal and he stepped inside a defender before firing a low shot past Bishop and sending the sizeable contingent of traveling fans into raptures.

Dulwich now looked like they could hold out comfortably for the win but were stunned by an 85th minute equaliser. The impressive Mitchell Pinnock drove at the heart of the Dulwich defence before being brought down some 20 yards out. The same player stepped up and curled an unstoppable free kick over the wall and out of the reach of the diving Phil Wilson.

However, there were to be no further alarms as Dulwich secured the point they required to secure a play off spot.
