Clanton played two years at Frenship before coming to the Levelland Lobos in 2013. With the Lobos, he was named to the Texas Sports Writer’s All State Team last year.

Clanton has also played a lot of select ball over the past several years. His stints include playing for Albuquerque Baseball Academy for the past three years. As a member of ABA he has played for Team New Mexico at the Battle of the Borders All American Game in 2012 and made Team Mountain West his Sophomore and Junior Year. After his Sophomore year he was selected to play in the Junior All Star Classic in Surprise, Arizona. The last two falls, he was asked to play in the Metro Scout League in Dallas. He also covered with plate with a 418 batting average while hitting three homeruns and driving in 29.

“Baseball is what I live for,” said Clanton via email to KLVT Sports. “I absolutely love everything about this game.”

Clanton could certainly be a cog in a big machine for the Levelland Lobos in 2015 as he returns to the field with his battery mate senior catcher Kody Duncan for the campaign. They will be joined by other returning starters and seniors such as pitcher Matt Stafford, and standout center fielder Tristin Hagood.

“I am ready to see Clanton and us this year,” said Levelland Lobo Coach Brent Paris. “I am super proud of him. Odessa College got a good player.”

He will be at Odessa under the direction of first year head coach Kurtis Lay.

Brenden is the son of Brad and Melissa Clanton. Mr. Clanton is the Principal of Levelland Middle School and Mrs. Clanton is an Instructional Facilitator for Inclusion for Levelland ISD. Brenden also has one sister, Victoria who is an 8th Grader at Levelland Middle School.
