Toms River Sets Informal Halloween Trick-Or-Treating Curfew
Police urge adults to be careful and watchful as kids trick-or-treat.
TOMS RIVER, NJ — It's almost here. Lawns are decorated, costumes are picked out, and kids are giddy at the thought of candy. Lots and lots of candy.
Trick-or-treating in Toms River is set for Sunday, Oct. 30.
“This was a joint decision made by the township, the Toms River fire companies and the Toms River Police Department," Mayor Thomas H. Kelaher said. "We want children to be able to come to the parade with their families but still enjoy the time honored tradition of trick-or-treating.”

The 78th annual Toms River Halloween Parade takes place on Monday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m.
While there is no official curfew in Toms River, Police Chief Little says that all trick-or-treaters will be asked to be off town streets by 9 p.m. Sunday.
