How to Keep Your Fraser Fir Christmas Tree Fresh All Season Long
How to Keep Your Fraser Fir Christmas Tree Fresh All Season Long If you brought home a beautiful Fraser Fir from Market Basket – or plan to get one, here are some tips to help you take good care of it so it’s beautiful well into the New Year:
Before placing the tree in the stand, cut a ¼ to 1/2 inch off the trunk. Make sure the cut is straight – not at an angle or v-shape.
Your tree needs plenty of water! Make sure your stand holds enough water to keep your tree hydrated constantly. Figure you need about a quart of water for every inch of the trunk’s diameter.
Make sure your stand is large enough for your tree. It’s better for the tree to put it in a stand that fits, rather than to cut the tree to fit the stand.
Display your tree away from heat sources, such as the fireplace or over a vent.
Check the water level daily and replenish as needed.
If you tend to keep the temperature in your house on the warmer side, your tree may drink more! It’s used to cold weather.
The Fraser Fir tree has become very popular because of it’s deep color and wonderful aroma. It’s also less sensitive to temperature changes, and it won’t leave so many needles on the floor!
