Charges: Attempted arson, Clayfield

A Kangaroo Point man has been charged with the attempted arson of a residence last night in Clayfield.

It will be alleged that the man entered the residence on Railway Parade about midnight and used a flammable substance to set fire to sections of the house.

Furthermore, it will be alleged that he removed items of furniture from the house.

The house was unoccupied at the time and as such, no one was injured. There was however, extensive damage caused to some rooms in the house.

A 59-year-old Kangaroo Point man has been charged with one count each of attempted arson and burglary and commit indictable offence. He is scheduled to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.
