We're delighted to announce this year's shortlist for The Readings Prize for New Australian Fiction! The prize recognises exciting and exceptional new contributions to local literature and the six shortlisted books are: Portable Curiosities by Julie Koh, The High Places by Fiona McFarlane, Music and Freedom by Zoë Morrison, Wood Green by Sean Rabin, Ruins by Rajith Savanadasa, and Salt Creek by Lucy Treloar.

Meet the authors at MWF

Four of our six shortlisted authors are appearing in an event series showcasing new Australian fiction at the Melbourne Writers Festival.

The sessions are free and feature debut or early career Australian authors in conversation about their book with a Readings bookseller.
